You are Unique!
In Chinese Medicine, your body is seen as individual and whole. You have a certain body type, tendencies, and lifestyle, that no one else has and your treatment plan should be made especially for you; taking all these details into account. This is why Acupuncturists ask a lot of questions. We want to understand the ‘whole’ picture, then work with you to pull your body back into a balance that is specifically for you, and only you..
Acupuncture for Pain Management.
Let’s not ‘manage pain’. Let’s get to the root cause and banish it from negatively affecting your life.
Acupuncture goes beyond ‘skin-deep’.
The mandate of Chinese Medicine is to : treat the root cause, while also addressing bothersome symptoms.
However, when treating the root cause, symptoms tend to naturally disappear.
What type of pain is Acupuncture best used for? ~All types. Sharp, stabbing, tingling, numbness, aching, dull, itching, swelling, inflammation, etc.!
Acupuncture works by stimulating circulation in the body and bloodflow to the site of pain. By doing so it has shown profound results in decreasing inflammation, detoxifying the blood and body fluids, increasing the release of natural analgesic hormones, and decreasing the release of stress hormones.
Chronic pain will take a few sessions and a bit of time, for your body to re-balance itself from something that has been affecting it for months or years.
For acute pain (0-3 weeks), treatment may be quicker, but for best results, come in soon! Please feel free to book a free 15 minute consult with me to find out how Acupuncture can help your condition.
What else can Acupuncture be used for?
Have you ever had symptoms that seem hard to explain? Or maybe you didn’t know if a treatment even existed yet.
Insomnia where you can’t explain why it so hard to turn your brain off to go to sleep?
Or, your body feels hot in the palms, the trunk, and the soles of your feet, but cold everywhere else?
Maybe, even though you are trying to eat healthy, you feel bloated and uncomfortable after every meal and have no idea why.
Or you could be ravenously hungry all the time even though you are eating well.
Maybe you are experiencing numbness or a tingling sensation in just one spot on your body, but have had no previous injury to cause it.
Or you may be feeling anxious and depressed even though things seem to be going well.
Acupuncture can help!
Acupuncture for Cervical Ripening and Fertility.
When it is hard to find a medical reason for infertility, it may be as simple as an imbalance in the body.
After a comprehensive consultation with your Acupuncturist or Chinese Medicine Practitioner, a treatment plan can be made to correct this imbalance naturally. It could be that there is a deficiency in energy (Qi) flowing through certain organs, or maybe there are signs of too much heat or cold in the Uterus. These imbalances and more, can be effectively corrected with Acupuncture
If you are using western medicine, or going the route of IVF, acupuncture can work in conjunction with these to give you the most efficient results.
Once pregnant and carrying to term, it is beneficial to keep a regularly scheduled acupuncture session. It can help with things like morning sickness, acid reflux, anxiety, insomnia, even swollen ankles. One month or so before your pregnancy has reached term, it is helpful to start a program for Cervical Ripening. Specialized acupuncture points are used to help the cervix become soft and pliable for delivery, making labour smoother, quicker, and less painful.
